Pat Moore Memorial Game Fish Derby

For the past seven years, this derby has offered families, kids and anglers a chance to get out in the fresh ocean air and fish for cash prizes and gift certificates from local merchants. Large and small fish win prizes as do age groups and men and women categories. Pat Moore was an avid fisherman who died from complications of Lou Gehrig disease or ALS. Annual Fran Delisle Cancer Awareness Walk

June 4, 2016

This beautiful walk follows the Dyea road along the Taiya Inlet, through a spruce forest to downtown Skagway. Aids and treats are provided by volunteer staffed stations along the way.  There is also a half walk, starting in Long Bay. $20 entry fee includes shirt and lunch. All money raised by the walk provides cancer screenings and aid to Skagway residents diagnosed with cancer. Sponsored by the Eagles Auxillary #25 and the Emblem Club.

Duff’s Skagway Marathon

June 11, 2016

Experience the toughest – and most beautiful – marathon in North America. Known far and wide as one of the hardest and most rewarding marathons in North America,  the Skagway Marathon leaves Skagway and runs up the Dyea road to West Creek and back, a distance of 26 miles. There is also a half marathon and walking marathon up the Dyea Road and back – 13 miles.

Sport Yukon’s Klondike Trail Of ’98 International Road Relay

September 11 - September 12

What a Rush! Teams race from Skagway to Whitehorse. Relay teams of up to 10 runners race along the old Gold Rush route through coast mountains from Skagway to Whitehorse overnight. The race begins in Skagway, Alaska and finishes along the Yukon River in Whitehorse. Festivities to follow the race.
