LAPIE CANYON
The Lapie River cuts an impressive path
through rock strata that’s been hundreds of
millions of years in the making. The bridge
and campground are located at km 365 along
the Campbell Highway towards Ross River.
BLIND CREEK
Blind Creek Road, Faro’s original access route
before the bridge was built, offers views of
salmon spawning in August-September and
has interpretive signage. This rough road
leads to the Pelly River, where historically a
barge carried people and supplies to Faro
and the mine. The barge service still operates
in Ross River to North Canol Road May to
October, providing a unique experience.

FINGERS INTERPRETIVE SITE
At the Fingers Interpretive Site, immerse
yourself in yet another panorama of the
Pelly River, Tintina Trench, and the majestic
Pelly Mountains. This site is equipped with
a viewing platform and a high-powered
telescope for guests to have an up-close view
of the elusive Fannin sheep.
MOUNT MYE SHEEP VIEWING
CENTRE
At the Mt. Mye Sheep Centre, observe
Fannin Sheep in their natural setting. The site
includes a cozy viewing cabin with a wood
stove and a hiking trail for panoramic views
of the Pelly River Valley. A lookout deck offers
interpretive signage on the sheep’s habits and
their role in Yukon’s ecosystem. Access is via
Blind Creek Road, taking the left fork at km 8.
MINERAL LICK BLUFFS
For a more extensive adventure, take a short
hike from the viewing cabin to the Mineral Lick
Bluffs. This vantage point promises a stunning
panorama of the Pelly River Valley, providing
a picturesque backdrop for observing the
surrounding wildlife and appreciating the
rugged beauty of the Yukon landscape.
FANNIN SHEEP
Fannin Sheep, native to the area, gracefully
roam the mountain ranges behind Faro. The
best time to spot them is spring - fall when
they graze on the slopes. In winter, they
explore the mountain and the mineral licks
above Blind Creek.
