I am a Més arst from Inuvik, Northwest
Territories.
I sew almost everything: motherhubbards, mukluks,
moccasins, beaded earrings, and necklaces.
As a small business owner and creave, I enjoy
embroi-dery the most, using silk, coon, and wool
thread, in which I use vibrant colours to imitate the
flowers of the Mackenzie Delta, but as a
grandmother of seven, I love to sew for my
grandchildren.
Alongside creang new cras, I also refurbish
clothing such as jean jackets and furs into fine
jewelry. I am a
rered Red Seal hairstylist and now concentrate on
my Bouque Moosehide & Pearls with affordable
cras.
Mahsi Cho.
I live and create in Inuvik, where the beauty of the
natural landscapes surrounding us are my main
source of inspiraon in the creave process.
As a self-taught Gwich’in arst and beadworker, I
enjoy challenging myself to learn new skills and
techniques.
I originally started selling my pieces in 2018 through
social media and have since sold art regularly at the
Arcc Market in Inuvik. Now, with a growing
customer base and creang bigger collecons, I
have set up a new online store where many of my
best sellers and new pieces are available to purchase
online.
My favourite item to make are beaded hoops. The
opons for colour combinaons are infinite and
each pair comes together as its own one of a kind
piece.
