The most populous community is Faro, which is home to a population of about 400 people. Ross River is a Kaska Dena Council community of approximately 300 residents. The Campbell Highway leads to the communities of Ross River and Faro, and eventually continues back to the North Klondike Highway near Carmacks. Exploring these communities is an adventure unto itself: The Central Yukon region is remote and lightly developed. Outdoor-lovers will enjoy the Fannin Sheep herd that resides near Faro, the golf course that sits in the middle of town, and the evidence of First Nations and mining history that exists along the Robert Campbell Highway.
