Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16)

Highway 16 is British Columbia’s section of the Yellowhead Highway. It follows the  path of the Canadian National Railway, and connects Prince Rupert on the West Coast to Terrace, Smithers, Fraser Lake, Prince George, and McBride. A section of Highway 16 also runs through Haida Gwaii, terminating in Skidegate.

Highway 16 provides the opportunity to turn north on the Stewart-Cassiar Highway at the junction between Smithers and Terrace. At Prince George, you can turn north to access Highway 97, which leads to Dawson Creek and Mile Zero of the Alaska Highway.
