The Peel River Watershed is one of the only pristine watersheds left in North America. The Peel Watershed has recently received much public and media attention due to discussions of land use planning in the area, which has drawn even more visitors to the area for  canoe trips. A canoe trip through the Peel Watershed is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Jaw-dropping scenery, wildlife, and vast expanses of untouched wilderness await those who travel through it. Most adventurers access the Peel River by first paddling the Hart, Wind, Bonnet Pume, or Snake rivers, all of which are tributaries to the Peel. Many paddlers will terminate their journey along the Peel River and await for float plane pickup. Longer trips terminate in Fort McPherson along the Dempster Highway.
